Talented Hands Contractors is a nonprofit organization based in San Antonio, Texas, that specializes in empowering youth and young adults aged 16-24 through vocational training, entrepreneurial education, and life skills development. By providing industry certifications and mentorship, we help participants build stable, self-sufficient futures, contributing to both their personal growth and the growth of the community at large.

Our mission is to equip underserved youth and young adults with the skills and resources they need to succeed in high-demand industries, achieve financial independence, and become strong community leaders. Through hands-on vocational training, entrepreneurial education, and mentorship, we provide pathways to long-term employment and business ownership, helping individuals build self-sufficient
futures.

Message from the Founder

Darryl McPherson, President & Founder

I’ve spent my life working with my hands — learning, building, and creating. But along the way, I saw something I couldn’t ignore: too many young people in our community were being left behind. They weren’t lacking potential — they were lacking opportunity.

That’s why I started Talented Hands Contractors. I wanted to create a space where youth and young adults — especially those overlooked or underserved — could gain real skills, real support, and real hope. Not just a job, but a future they can take pride in.

This organization is more than just tools and training — it’s mentorship, accountability, and community. We’re here to help young people realize that their hands can build more than homes — they can build lives, legacies, and leadership.
